I got this recipe from a friend of mine, it came from her mother-in-law from North Dakota several years ago. Thank you Sue for the recipe.
1 cube (1/2 cup) butter, melted in a 9"x13" pan
1 1/2 cups graham crackers, crushed finely
1 cup shredded coconut
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
1 can Borden's sweetened condensed milk
Melt the butter in the pan and simply spread the graham cracker crumbs over the melted butter evenly. Next layer the coconut, nuts and chocolate chips over the pan. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the ingredients in the pan. Bake at 350* for 25 minutes.
NOTE: If using a glass pan bake at 325* for 25 minutes.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen bars
Some folks call these magic bars. My mother-in-law from North Dakota said her family always called them Prayer Bars cause you better pray you could stop eating them.LOL
Enjoy!
